Describe A city you enjoyed visiting

One city that left an incredibly positive impression on me is Kyoto, located in the Kansai region of western Japan. I visited it during the peak autumn season in 2019, and spent a full 7 days exploring its hidden corners. The primary reason I adored this city is its rich cultural heritage: there are over 1,600 temples and shrines dotted across the city, and the fiery red maple leaves matched perfectly with the golden and wooden ancient architectures, creating postcard-worthy views everywhere I went. I also joined a traditional tea ceremony experience, where I learnt about the intricate local etiquette that has been passed down for centuries. Another highlight is its slow-paced lifestyle, which is a stark contrast to the fast-paced megacity I live in. Wandering through narrow cobblestone lanes, I sampled authentic Kyoto-style kaiseki cuisine made with fresh seasonal ingredients, and chatted with warm local craft shop owners. This trip helped me completely unwind from my busy work schedule, and I am already planning a return visit next spring to see the cherry blossoms in full bloom.
