Describe Got up early
Describe a time when you got up early.
You should say:
• When it was
• What you did
• Why you got up early
• And explain how you felt about it
You will have to talk about the topic for 1 to 2 minutes. You have 1 minute to think about what you are going to say. You can make some notes to help you if you wish.
One particularly memorable time I got up extremely early was last July, when I traveled to Huangshan Mountain with my closest friend to catch the famed sunrise over the cloud sea. We’d done our homework beforehand and learned the summit of Brightness Peak was the optimal vantage point for unobstructed views, so we set our alarms for 2:45 am — a full three hours before the predicted sunrise — to account for the steep, two-hour hike up uneven stone steps. We fumbled our way out of the cramped mountain hostel with head torches, passed groups of equally keen hikers along the winding trail, and huddled on a rocky ledge with 200-odd other visitors once we reached the top, sipping hot ginger tea to fend off the crisp mountain chill. When the first tangerine sliver of sun peeked over the rolling cloud banks, it felt utterly surreal; all the sleep deprivation and sore calves felt instantly worth it. It’s still one of the most breathtaking natural spectacles I’ve ever witnessed, and I’d gladly drag myself out of bed at that ungodly hour again for a repeat experience.
