Describe something you cannot live without (not a computer/phone).

You should say:

• What it is

• What you do with it

• How it helps you in your life

• And explain why you cannot live without it

You will have to talk about the topic for 1 to 2 minutes. You have 1 minute to think about what you are going to say. You can make some notes to help you if you wish.

If I had to select one non-electronic possession I simply cannot live without, it would be my hand-bound leather journal, which I have carried with me for the past five years. Primarily, I use it to jot down spontaneous ideas, daily to-do lists, reflections on work and social interactions, and even snippets of poetry I draft while commuting. Unlike digital note-taking tools, it never runs out of battery or glitches unexpectedly, so I can capture fleeting thoughts the second they pop into my head, no matter where I am. On top of that, it acts as a tangible archive of my personal growth. When I feel overwhelmed or stuck in a rut, flipping through pages of past entries reminds me of difficult challenges I overcame in the past, which immediately lifts my mood and gives me much-needed perspective. What makes it irreplaceable is that each page bears unique traces of my life: smudged handwriting, coffee stains, tiny doodles I drew during boring meetings. These imperfect, personal details can never be replicated by a cloud document, so it is far more than a notebook—it is a quiet, constant companion that has witnessed every major milestone of my adult life. I could never imagine being without it.
